Maran mix?

This is my handsome sweet boy French Fry.
I know he is a Maran but I'm beginning to think he is a mix with something else. Because he is so massive I'm thinking maybe a Jersey Giant and wondered what other people thought.

Crossbred for sure. He got some gold lacing genes from somewhere but its hard saying where for sure. And I don't think its from a Wyandotte or he'd have a rose comb. Its nearly impossible to determine crossbreds with 100% certainty unless you know the exact parentage, sorry. And I think your thinking of -Marans- not -Maroon-, no such breed as Maroon.

Your fine, not a biggie. He very well could be a Marans cross, but is about impossible to know for sure. He sure is big, and I really like his shape and color.
