Ok, I feel like whenever I'm certain that a chick is either male or female, I'm typically wrong. I have the same problem with my sense of direction, if I say right, it's typically in your best interest to go left.

SO, with that in mind, I need some confirmation that the fellas that I know are roosters are in fact roosters. These guys are supposed to be leaving the old homestead this weekend and I don't want to make their new owners super happy and me really sad when I find out I gave away hens instead of roosters.

Ok, so am I right on or way off?

    5 Week Old Wheaten Marans
BIRDS 3 & 4: Roosters (2 different birds, but with exact same coloring and impossible to tell apart)

BIRD #5: Hen (significantly more carmel colored than the other two and with smaller comb)

Question: arre their only four birds, or is each picture a different bird?

Sorry if I didn't make that clear! There are 5 birds total (2 BC Marans and 3 Wheaten Marans), I noted above each group of photos what I thought the gender of the bird was, followed by a couple pictures of the birds. I'll go back and number them if that's easier.

Ok, about two pictures in, you show three pictures of a pullet. I think it's all the same bird, but those look like pullets to me.

All the rest look like roos to me, even the one you called a pullet.

Your Wheaten Marans "hen" is a roo, just not developing as fast as the others. With that much comb & wattles already, it can't be a hen but wait a few weeks to be positive.

Haha, ok, so seems we have a tie on whether the last Wheaten is male or female. Please tell me I didn't end up with 4 boys!! Anybody else care to weigh in?

I think you are right with your assumptions... all except the last one. I would be willing to bet that is a boy too.
