Marans or Plymouth Rock?

    Hi again! Here's another cutie that I'm hoping you all can help out with. Hubby got this at TSC and said it was Plymouth Rock. Not too sure though as the wings don't look barred.

    We absolutely adore this little one...so friendly that it jumps right onto my hand anytime I go near it.

    And any indication on sex? I know it's early but hoping it's a pullet![​IMG]

    The white spot on the back of the head indicates the presence of the barring gene. The barring will become more clear as the feathers grow in. Looks like a pullet for now.

    I think Plymouth Rocks would be brown.
    I have them and it looks more like a Marans.

    Barred Rocks are not brown.

    The Barred Rock chick in front of the feeder had white primaries, like your chick.
