Are marans known to be difficult to sex and identify color on? This breed is new to me and I am having a difficult time on some of the birds telling if they are male or female and what color they are. They were hatched 9/17.

I found them to be pretty easy. Boys sprout combs/wattles really quickly. You should be able to tell by now. Post pics and we'll help you out!

I could sex a couple of mine right after they hatched! [IMG] 2 were very obviously roosters, they had larger "combs" and thick, big legs.
