I have heard a lot about the vaccine, and unfortunately, we have Marek's in our flock. So I was wondering, where would I be able to get the vaccine? Do we ask the vet clinic, or can we order it online? I know the one lady my mom talked to said you can only get it in doses for like over fifty or a hundred birds. We have five eggs under a broody that are set to hatch next week sometime. I know its silly to buy that much vaccine, especially when its a one time thing, isn't it? Like after you activate it, you have to either use it all or dispose of it by burning or something? But i feel an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, or in our case most likely a pound of dead chicks. So any hints on how to administer the vaccine, and more importantly, how I can find some? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You don't need to get the Marek's vaccine from a vet. You can find it online. One good place is Twin Cities Poultry Supply: https://www.twincitypoultrysupplies...in_page=product_info&cPath=46&products_id=574

You can also get it from Jeffers Pet Supply: http://www.jefferspet.com/products/md-vac?via=533884b09fa2600f000004ab

The unfortunate thing about the vaccine is that it only comes in 1,000 dose packages. The vaccine can only be used within 1 hour after activitating it. It may not seem very practical, but it can save your chickens.
