i have 9 eggs due to hatch on the 9th, and I was wondering how to mark them. They will be too little for leg bands, so I was thinking putting a small dot of color on the back of each ones head, a different color for each. if it's on the back of the head, they cant peck at it.

    What do you suggest?

Well, I haven't asked Ideal, but since the marks stayed for a couple of weeks or so, I assumed it was felt tip markers. That's what it looked like.

I marked mine's heads with blue kote... at least the lighter ones. The darker ones I marked the middle toes. Have to reapply every few days. For some reason Blue Kote only stays on MY skin well.

I use different colored sharpie markers. I color their backs/heads. It lasts about 4-5 weeks or so.

I'm trying to understand why you want to mark them, but anyway, the way to do it is with a toe-punch.
