This is how Martha does it:
That coop might be bigger than my house!
Noticed she said "it gets cleaned" out every few days, not "I clean it out" every few days.
There are more than 50 chickens. I wonder where they are allow that many.
Love it! Thanks for sharing Hokum Coco
Yeah, flyin-lowe I guarantee that I do not look that glamorous when I am in the coop/run and definitely not that awake! lol
I noticed on the intro that the egg basket behind her is full then we go inside, it is empty.
She mentions that she lives in a suburban area; bet the neighbours love her
I am just being picky, mainly because that set up would probably not fit on our small suburban block and it takes me a month or so to get 33 eggs! lol
That's a bit excessive for a coop lol. She seems to know a decent amount about chickens but not exactly all the correct terminology, her deff of "yard" threw me off, I'm like what's a secure yard? We talking Fort Knox awe she meant run lol. Also she must not know how long eggs last if she only eats today's eggs today. Lol
That is quite the coop!!
It is nice to know that she did think about what chickens actually need and the functionality of the chicken coop and run. She didn't just go for pretty.
And I definitely didn't look that good going out to get eggs this morning. I'm not sure my five dollar boots, old ratty sweatpants and stain sweatshirt would have quite met her standards that's OK though.
Much better than the coop the This Old House crew built. That one was just awful.
We actually have a thread about the TOH coop.
They did an excellent job of building a poorly designed death trap.
Martha's house is much nicer.
