    Hey there!

I'm very excited to start a new experience of being a chicken owner! I've been fascinated with chickens for a while and have been dreaming of owning my own chickens for quite some time and that time is about to come! I pick up my first baby chicks March 31st! I've been quite a nerd about it by doing tons of research and asking my fellow co-workers, who have chickens of their own, and apparently, I may be over doing it a little. [IMG] But I'd rather be over prepared than not at all.

But I've been reading these forums for a while and I'm very excited to share my fellow fascination with others and looking forward to getting more insight from you!

Hi everyone! Sorry Maryland Newbie, I wanted to say hi to you and everyone and for two d a ys I have been trying to find where to post and all I find is reply!
I'm new to chicks, although my husband grew up on a farm. We just got a dozen chicks and we are loving it already! So entertaining! I've read up on chicks but I do have a few questions. ..our babies are two weeks old now, at what age can we feed them sprouted seeds? Do they usually eat anything you give them, or do you have to introduce new foods a couple of times before they like it? They act like our babies so maybe they eat like them too!
Thank you all so much, I've already learned so much reading through posts! Have a great evening!

Hi and welcome to BYC. Where you see "Post a reply", theres another box immediately to the right of it that says "start a new thread" - hope that helps. Assuming you have your chicks in a brooder, then its good practice to ensure that they have a source of grit before giving them anything other than starter feed.
