EDIT to say -
For the Frederick Fair next month, I've never gone but someone said they do the Avian testing there for you? Do they?

They do test at the fair but, I believe it is only for the fair entries... Maybe if you enter there too, your testing would be good for the show.. I am not sure exactly how long you're good for.. another good question for the state vet. I believe it's good for 30 days...

Here's the info.

Tom Roebuck is a long time member of the Virginia Breeders Association, devoted many years as president of the American Cochin Club and is a master breeder/exhibitor. We could all learn a lot from him and I am looking forward to entering some birds myself. If you would like to enter, please contact Majestic Lane Poultry and get your entry forms in. The cost is just $4 per bird. We did raise the price slightly from last year but, feel it is a small price to pay for the knowledge you stand to gain. Tom will take the time to answer any questions you may have during the clinic. We have minimal room to spare so, get your entries in asap. We will be donating ALL proceeds from the Show Clinic to the VBA (Virginia Breeders Association) for their support.

You can PM me directly on BYC or you may email me at: [email protected].

Questions: 304-433-5343.

We will need extra wire cages if anyone can donate them for that day, let me know. If enough West Virginians are interested, I will try to get together a testing clinic in WV for people who wish to participate in this show clinic/swap in MD.

Please include your email address so I can email you the entry form.

Hey Guys,
I just got a call from a man that is giving his wife a surprise gift of the same flock of chickens she had as a child. She is away and he bought and installed a coop and fencing, and has purchased two of the 4 breeds he needs. He still needs 2 barred rock hens or pullets or they could be dominque's they really just need to be barred. They can be older birds, he is not looking for egg production. He has a picture from when his wife was 8 and he is recreating the flock. He needs this before next weekend, that's when she comes home. Can anyone help this guy out? He will travel to neighboring states (Maryland) to get these two birds.

This is just the sweetest thing he is doing I feel like we should help him out, but I don't have what he needs.

I only posted here because I know this group is close by and sentimental!

Carolyn

Edited to say he found some on Solomon's Island! So now he's set.
