Does anybody know what happens to your money if she doesn't get the funding she needs for production?

On the question list in the help section, it says "All-or-nothing funding?

Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands.

Why?

1. It's less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it's tough having $2,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project.

2. It allows people to test concepts (or conditionally sell stuff) without risk. If you don't receive the support you want, you're not compelled to follow through. This is huge!

3. It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word."

Or I'm out $20 'cuz I got too excited about a well fitting lid for my jars. So it goes!

I just backed her. The cool thing is, if the goal is not met, they DON'T take your money, only if it is a go, so why not?

For anyone who is worried - with Kickstarter - if they don't meet the fundraising goal, they don't get the money you agreed to donate. So no harm to you.

Seems like a VERY useful idea, so I'm going for it.
