We hatched 4 "mutt" chickens about 5 months ago. We ended up with three whitish (with a bit of black speckling on the tail) and one very small brown one. By month 3 , the sweet little brown one had started to crow and attack us. The other three (white ones) continued to act like hens. We gave the rooster to another farm during month three. Here it is a good 2 months later and the largest white "hen" has started randomly, and very sporadically, trying to crow. Sooo, is it possible that the first rooster matured extremely fast, the white ones are maturing extremely slowly, or we have a very mixed up chicken who acts like a gentle hen but crows like a rooster?
