My oldest girls were hatched out mid June. Four RIR's then two weeks later, 8 Americaunas, then the babies that are in the brooder. The last couple of days, two of the RIRs have had confrontations. They get in each others personal space, a few times breast bumping, and this afternoon, they had a staring contest. One of the Americaunas have taken a serious liking to one of the two, and shadows it. The RIR has even been extra nice to her, offering her things to eat, and on one occasion pecked at her to put her in her place. Since this is my first experiece raising chickens, is this the norm for establishing pecking order, or I might have a male or two? I don't think they are roosters because all four look exactly alike, from combs to feathers and everything inbetween. On the upside, most time they all get along very well.
Its normal. Sometimes my big girls still get into squabbles and stare each other down. If you post some pictures we could probably help you sex them
