Just wondering if anyone has ordered this before. It comes with 10 brown egg layers, 2 geese, 2 turkeys, and 2 ducks. Are the geese, ducks, and turkeys they send good meat birds? I'm interested in everything except the chickens. It would be the perfect number of holiday birds for us without having to order more than we need. Unless there is a place I can order just 2 of each that I am unaware of?

I have always been tempted but I have no pond and I refuse to raise ducks and geese without 1 so that stops me dead in my tracks, I know they can be raised on dry ground but for me (not judging others but this is my own rules for me) it seems to be unethical or unnatural to raise them away from water I cannot force myself to raise them that way. I guess I understand how some cannot eat their own birds because they find it morally reprehensible for themselves to do it. there are other multi-mixes from several hatcheries I have pondered about getting

If you don't want the chickens, I would think that you could get the other birds at your local feed store during your spring "chick days". You can order pretty much anything you want at my local TSC.

I didn't even think of that! I also just found out I could just put my order in with Ideal since their only minimum (that I've found on their site) is a $25 order.

I just came back from my local big box farm supply store and they want to sell same as the minimum that their supplier wants to sell to the public (hatchery number not the minimum from the store) for, but with one caveat they will take names and try to match people together to buy whatever the set minimum is. It will vary from one big box chain to big box chain and I'm sure from one store to another..... So be sure to go early and ask.
