Sooo I have a full-grown Delwares (don't be jealous, it's only 3 :plbb) and I'm gonna use them for breeding out some meat birds. They are NOT good lawyers, which I already knew. To get them laying better, should I give them meat bird feed or layer feed? Right now I have them on layer feed, but I'm not pleased with results, which is like 1 egg every 3 or 4 days out of 2 hens, who are both less than 1 year old.:(

Are these the enhanced Delaware broilers?

Enhanced...? I'm honestly not sure! My rooster is HUGGGGGE at like 10-12 lbs but I wouldn't be surprised if they are.

Did you get them from McMurray?

I may have a rat problem... ::runs to go put out more traps and some poison::
If you are not seeing any signs of an eaten egg, bits of egg shell or a wet spot, I'd think more in terms of a possible snake or dog.

Wondering if these are Delaware Broilers from Murray McMurray or regular egger Delawares? I would not be surprised if the Broilers lay a lot less than the egger version Delawares do.
