How long can you feed medicated chick feed to chicks?

They say you can feed it all the way up until they are laying, but I only give it to them for the first 8 wks. The amprolium that is in the feed can cause neurological problems with prolonged use, so I quit using it around 8 wks. They will have had a sufficient amount of the medicated feed by that time. Then just switch them over to a non-medicated chick starter.
