I was just wondering if someone could tell me what medication is added to the feed and what is it for? I know in medicated chick starter for chickens it is a sulfa drug and it is only for prevention of coccidiosis.
I'm asking because I want to raise some poults this summer but I am allergic to the sulfa drugs and cannot use the medicated chick starter for my chickens anymore. If the medicated feed for turkey poults is the same as for chicks then I will not be able to use it even though I would prefer to use medicated (as you can see, not an organic farmer here).
Does anyone have options other than medicated starter to prevent the same problems that medicated starter does?
