Hello fellow hen tenders :)

I purchased the “rarest of the rare” hatching eggs from Murray and McMurray hatchery. It was my first time hatching, so unfortunately only one hatched. This is him!

Does anyone have any idea what breed he is?

The speckled wings and the white/flesh legs really threw me off, but after going through both my standard and pictures of both young/old/chicks of both all of the breeds Murray McMurray listed in that pack, as well as the ones I thought of, I really think it's either a Welsummer or Light Brown Leghorn. My bantam LB leghorn hen has white legs just like that :) I was thinking game bird but like old english game (at least the bantams) that look like his colour (black breasted red) all have solid wings, not speckled. A lot of breeds I looked up ended up being dead ends cause they had blue legs or rose combs, not singles like his ^^" but I feel decently confident in Welsummer or Leghorn? (leaning towards leghorn myself! but earlobes will tell c: ) either way, gorgeous little man you have!

After reviewing all of the rare breeds in Murray McMurray Hatchery, I believe your chick is a Buttercup!! If not, then maybe a Black Tail Buff Japanese Bantam, because he is so small and beautiful.. :love
That is the most exquisite chick coloring I've ever seen!

I believe this little fella has a singlecomb, not a buttercup, but if the OP wants to chime in about what it looks like in real life and not in photos that could help :D I think he'd be the wrong colour for buttercup or a japanese bantam but I'm not sure a lot of hatcheries sell crazy high quality show birds anyway haha xD
