Do you have your chicks vaccinated with the Mereks vaccine before they are shipped to you?

I have. Last year we raised turkeys with our chicks in hopes of naturalizing their vaccine. There are alot on here that do and alot that don't. It's pretty much up to you and what you want to do.

I think that if there is a cheap and easy way to avoid Mareks, then why not do it!

Just this spring we ordered 25 newbies for our coop. We had them vaccinated...mainly because we dont want to take the chance of infecting the existing ones in the coop. Its not that expencive, and WELL worth it, in my opinion.
