Metal or Plastic

I am just starting out raising chickens, and was wondering based on others experiences, what were pros and cons to using metal feeders / waterers as opposed to plastic ones.

Metal rusts and plastic doesn't.

Plastic cracks and metal doesn't.

I have both. Someone did mention not use medicated water in metal waterer-including the apple cider mix.

My feeder is metal, but waterer is plastic.

I have A Mixture, My two Biggest Feeder and water are Metal, ANd they are about a year old with out any Signs of rust.

I only have a small flock and the plastic works great. Super easy to clean not to mention much cheaper where I live. Havent ever had it "crack" (didnt even know that could happen.

Actualy I used to have a metal chick feeder but threw it out because all the parts were finicky and didnt fit very well

If you put ACV in your waterer make sure it's plastic
