So below is my chicken coop conversion. Started out with a old metal shed that had a caved in roof due to a branch. So I removed the old roof it was not salvageable at all. I braced up the walls and sides. I ended up putting a new wooden plywood roof on and shingling it. Then I added on the run. You'll see my before and after pictures. So my question is I live in Colorado. It's gets super cold in the winter and fairly warm in summer. Been thinking about putting a roof on the run with either corrugated metal or clear PVC. Are there any pluses or drawbacks to either of those materials? Also over the summer I am going to add interior insulation with some plywood as well.

It all depends. But ya we get a lot of snow. I kept it low so I can reach to get the snow off if needed

If your not around I'm not sure it would hold up..

If you gonna add metal anyway to run top.. I think I'd make a nice peak the the whole way..then you wouldn't have to clean off roof at all..
Looks like you did a nice job..your chickens will be happy

So we ended up finding some metal roofing from a local farmer in town. He had some left over from a previous project. We also added a small stone walkway with some flagstone, and we added some cheap solar garden lights for night time. We are very happy with the results.
