Metronidazole dosage for Old English Game Bantam (About 1 lb)

I am treating canker. I have tablets that are 250 mg, the hen is just under 1 lb (I cannot be more precise as she was uncooperative to say the least). What dosage would I administer? Thank you.

For a 5 lb bird dose is 250mg given twice a day for 5-7 days.

If she's just under a pound, dose would be 50mg given twice a day for 5-7 days.

Crush the whole 250mg pill up finely and mix it well with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Divide that into 5 equal parts/pieces, then put them in the fridge to harden them. 1 part/piece would be your 50mg or close enough.
