( Meyer Hatchery ) 16 Week Old Cockerel - What Breed?

Came from Meyer Hatchery as a bin chick, so it was kind of a mixed bag. I had another thread that originally started as a gender one but evolved into figuring out what Blueberry’s breed was. I’m just wanting to put this in its own thread to get more opinions.

My hang up is what kind of blue is he, though? Cuckoo, birchen, copper?

Marans can be solid blue.

I see just blue.
He has no barring, so he’s not Cuckoo.
He has no leakage or coloring, so he’s not birchen or copper.
He could be a sport of any of these colors, and carrying all sorts of genes, but he appears blue.

I'd say it's probably a mix breed. I've never seen any breed of chickens that look like that.

Actually, hatcheries don’t really sell mixes. I believe this bird is pure.

That’s because the people who work there on the computers can’t tell a Jersey Giant from a Serama.

I think he could still be a blue copper Marans. Some birds do not develop the copper coloring until later. Also in some hatchery birds, they do not have much copper coloring. Many pullets can be all blue with no copper coloring at all.

Here's my Blue Cuckoo. Females have lacing instead of barring but she has tiny barred feathers on her outside legs. Yours looks older but oh so beautiful
