This all feels like self-serve doctoring. Is that where we are heading? DIY medicine?
When I was younger and trying to figure out my health issues, I had to do a lot of research myself and insist on seeing a specialist. I ended up having exactly what I researched. I had to be my own advocate.

I had to do it again this year, and was diagnosed with SLE on top of the EDS. (Which is why I've been off the forums).

I feel like I might as well just become my own doctor now.

I went to TSC yesterday for a heated water fount. They were out. They did have the galvanized base heaters but that won't work for me. Hopefully they get more in soon. I forgot to look at FFH.

Coming home via the back woods trail I stopped for a piece of dead fall firewood I saw. I no sooner got out the Jeep when my knee failed. I fell hard and it took several minutes to get back on my feet. I really need to get this knee replaced.

Visiting nurse was here for a blood draw. She showed me a couple of tricks for keeping the PICC line secure and clean. This nurse was really nice, friendly and professional. Not like some of the other ones.

Today's infusion is the last of the anti-biotic. Six more days of the Heparin. Once it's all done I can schedule the TEE. Since they put you under sedation I'll need a baby-sitter to go with me for the procedure.

Wild birds have congregating in droves here. My window is 9 feed wide with a sill that's 10 inches wide. I put bird seed and peanuts on it. I love watching how the birds, squirrels, and chickens all eat together. No fighting at all.

I hope everyone is warm and dry.

Just got back from visiting our "daughter" with Lymphoma. Well, 12 sessions of chemo weren't enough; there is still something that shows up on the PET scan. A biopsy to see what it is, and then -- most likely -- more chemo. And more intense chemo.

She's had a few days to wrap her head around what is likely to be; she was feeling well and in good spirits.

2nd gorgeous sunny day here
We had clouds all day. When I went to the west side of GR, you could see the clear sky to the west, but it never moved over here.

Speaking of winter chicken chores, I need to haul out the shower curtains I used last year and put them up on the new part of the run for some protection. And if I don't have enough yardage, well, I can use what's in the bathroom and get another one.

don't give up hope, my friend was diagnosed about 12 years ago, she went through many different treatments but has been doing really well for over 8yrs. She can beat this. we will keep her in our prayers. may I ask her name?
