We are so excited to be stationed in MD for 5 years of more! Tis leaves us with more of a possibility of having a garden and possibly chickens. :)

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are totally new to chickens

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?

    (3) What breeds do you have?
Looking to learn what would be best

    (4) How did you find out about

I found the Facebook group first and then found this page

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to sew, quilt, crochet and knit. Really any thing crafty. I also all of our meals are homemade being on the GAPs diet for the time being.

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family of 4 living in southern MD. We have two other fur babies (cats), mombo and Po. My husband works for the USCG as an IT. I am a stay at home mama, and will be homeschooling our little ones. We hope to one day have a small farm.

Hi and a warm welcome to BYC - great to have you join us. There's so much information to wade through before getting chickens, but planning is an enjoyable process. Just remember that we are here to help, so if you feel a little confused or want some reassurance or advice - just post and you'll get the support you need.

There's some threads on quilty / knitty things here on BYC so hopefully you will enjoy that also.

    All the best

I would like to thank your husband for his time in service, and yourself as well. If you put your state name in the search box, it will pop up. Then you post on it and see if other bycers live near you. They are generally very helpful and friendly folks. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
