good luck in your search and dont forget pics when you find what you are looking for!

Right now, I have Nubians. I love them. This May I am getting my first mini Nubian. I can't wait. I just love the long ears.

Someone just yesterday told me that Nubians have really good milk, much better than alpine..he also said Lamancha's are very whiney (crybabies) lol. He was an older farm guy so I imagine he's had quite a few different goats.

He was REALLY eyeballing the Saanens they came into the auction, someone dropped off about 25 babies.

Nubian's milk tend to have more butter fat. I love drinking my girls milk. It has a really good taste. Right now, I have three girls. Two of mine are pretty quite, but my oldest girl is a loud mouth. She is the sweetest girl though.

I have NIgerian Dwarfs and an Alpine. We are milking the Alpine right now. The milk is very good. Not as much butterfat as Nigerians or Nubians but definitely great for drinking.

It would probably be best to look around at all the types of dairy goats and visit farms in your area and see which ones you will like. Everyone loves the type of goat that they own and think they are the best.

That's funny, I've always read that nubians give good milk, but I've also read they're the crybabies.

I've read that people tend to favor whichever breed of goat they started with. We love our Lamanchas, but you certainly can't go wrong with Nubians. Mini-manchas are another possibility, if they are available in your area. As far as whineyness goes, hungry goats tend to be vocal, and I've never seen a goat that wasn't hungry.

I second the recommendation to see the fias co goat website. It is great!
