I'm thinking of adding a couple of mille fluers to the herd of chicks coming in a few weeks. What are their personalities like? Are they only bantams or do they come standard as well?
thanks!

I love my little d'uccle mille fleur hen. She's spunky, and she's the queen of my coop. She's 8 years old and lays an egg everyday in warm weather. But she's an absolute sweetheart.

I sell millie hatching eggs but I looooooooooove my flock, they each have a different personality. They will all run up to me to see if I brought any treats and will let me rub them. I got them as adults and they still act this way to me.

Ooooo... if only I had an incubator!

I just think they're so pretty. That beard cracks me up! I'm hoping to adjust my order and add a couple to my starter flock. Fingers crossed that the hatchery will let me.

Thanks for the info, y'all. Nice to know they are as sweet as they are pretty!

They are wonderful chickens. I absolutely love mine. They are very submissive and tend to be loners....and so that also means they can get picked on. I think they need to be matched up with breeds that are also very "sweet". That has been my experience. I would love to have 10 more of them!!

I absolutely I LOVE our mille fleur d'uccles. They are so sweet and our little hen adores being held. She basically jumps up and down, complains, and throws a tantrum if you won't hold her. Her last resort is just to fly up on your shoulder!

They are very loving and sweet birds. Ours could be an indoor bird if we'd let them!

Our mille-fleur becme a housebird last night. We have a two year old colt that decided she was a toy and picked her up by her head. Daughter thought she was dead, picked her up and laid her in a feedpan in the feedroom until they finished feeding. Son in law went in feedroom and she was sitting up. They had given her up for dead, but she is still hanging on. She even laid an egg this morning. She is the favorite little chicken on the place and we all really hope she makes it. She must be tough! She has the sweetest personality of them all. Say a little chicken prayer for Mickey.
