Millie's Babies at 1 month think we have a lot of roos :(

Millie is the broody, the mama hen is a partridge bantam cochin and the choices for daddy are mottled bantam cochin or RIR. I am thinking 4 have the RIR as daddy as they seem huge compared to the rest but they all are feather footed like the cochins. 5 of the babies are almost a month and the other 4 are 3 weeks. They are a confusing bunch but I swear it looks like a lot of roo's to me.

1,2,4 and 5 of the individual pics say roo to me but they are also the biggest so maybe thats just the difference, and possibly 3 as well. Any thoughts?

I reckon 1,2,4, and 5 are all roos. 3,6,7,8 you can at least be hopeful about... though give the wee ones a week to catch up to the age of your 4 week birds and I'm afraid that not all of them will look so female!

With all the chicks being black I would say that the mottled cochin is probably the dad. A rhode island red X partridge cochin cross should not produce black chicks.
