Mini horse with laceration on sheath *GRAPHIC PHOTOS*

So I have a 3 year old mini gelding that has been kicking his sheath because of flies. First it swelled really big and there was 2 small Knicks on it bit today he kick a large laceration on it. I cleaned it with bededine and dried it and put wonder dust on it. Is there anything else I can put on it or use to make a cover for it. Thanks

I don't have any horses, but that look's bad. Is there a way to cover it up until it heals so that the flies wouldn't be able to lay maggot's in it?

That's part of what I'm asking. I can't seem to find a way

Do you have swat? You can put that all around the wound to keep the flies away. When the wound heals up more and scabs over then you can put the swat all over so the flies don't reopen it.
