Hello, first time posting in a long while. I have two oddities this morning. One from an Easter egger the other from my Rouen duck. Never had eggs like this before. They have plenty of calcium and grit in their diet. Is this a result of these being laid overnight in freezing temperatures?

Hi there, I'm not aware of cold temperature causing egg quality issues, but I wouldn't worry too much unless this happens frequently. The bottom line is that there are some known causes of these type of quality issues, but occasionally weird eggs just happen! Here are some guides to egg quality problems that might be helpful for you:

Thank you this is very informative. Neither girl has ever laid this way and they are both young layers. The only deduction I can make is something must’ve scared them in the night! Thanks again for the insight.
