We woke today and discovered one of our three chineese geese was missing. We walked around the lake and the yard and we could find an evidence he had been killed. No body, no feathers, no anything.

We had coyotes kill one before but they a trail and mess of feathers.

    What could it have been?

Given your locale I would suspect a two-legged predator of the homo-sapien variety.

Maybe a fox. They are quick and don't leave a mess. Although a China goose might be too big for a fox, how old was the.goose? It does sound like maybe 2 legged.

He was about nine months old. He was pretty big and feisty too.

    Christmas dinner is coming up.

It could have been any other large predator besides a human. Anything big enough to carry a goose away. Dog, coyote, fox, raccoon. There are mountain lions in San Diego County
