missing pea chicks

I had 3 pea chicks in with my male they were getting along great then one night all 3 chicks disappeared there wasn't any feathers scattered or any body parts in the pen and the pen is completely enclosed could they have been eaten by a predator or could they have been stolen ? My male has some of his neck feathers messed up as well. We have put a chain and padlock on the door of the pen. Any advice about possible predators would be great we are in Tennessee.

Most likely snake. How old were they?

They were about 8 weeks the holes in the penare to small for a snake to get out after feeding and we are thinking that it would have set our male off and if it was a snake the other 2 could have flown to a perch or into the nest

Snakes raccoons possums coyote. The pen we built can't be opend except by a person and is completely enclosed.

I would agree when birds disappear without a trace like that with none of the others being affected it's usually theft. Do you have locks on your pens?
