can i wash my hens with flea shampoo to kill feather mites? also could i use a flea spray on them? i am already using de powder and a little sulfer powder.also mixing a lttle bit of cedar shavings with pine shavings in nest. i had given them a bath with castile soap and a little orange oil. then clipped there feathers around their vent to try to get rid of eggs. this helped for awhile but i didnt get to repeat it within the 7 days so they still have them. i was trying to do this organically but now i need something stronger. i need to sell some of these but cant until they are free from mites. any ideas or answers will be appreciated.

Try something stronger - an insecticide dust such as Sevin or Prozap, or Eprinex pour-on.

Also, I believe cedar is toxic to chickens, might not want to line their nests with cedar shavings.
