    oh oh! I think the chickens have mites.I haven't seen any in the coop or on them . This morning I went to feed them and on the ground outside the coop I saw little black bug on the ground out side the pen and inside the pen .what should I do is this the time of the year I would see them?

    Quote:Just to be sure, I recommend you visually inspect your chickens for lice or mites. Also, go out to your coop at night with your flashlight and inspect the roosts for mites crawling around...sometimes they only come out at night to feed on the chickens while they are roosting.     I'm back!!!!!!!!! didn't see any mites on them or the roosts. the girls where complaining that I woke them up .but didn't see any bugs.
