Mites?

There are little black bugs under the manure in the coop. I am confused b/c these fly and I have yet to find one on my chickens. They are hard to get pics of.

What do y'all think?

Certainly not mites, they don't fly. I don't think any chicken pests fly…
No idea what they could be.

I have these as well under one of the roosts with a dropping board - definitely not mites and nothing to worry about, have never caused any problems.

I can't see them in the pic, but perhaps a fungus gnat? those are extremely tiny. Live in damp soil, sometimes infest house plants. I wouldn't worry about them.

Ok thanks! Glad it's nothing to worry about, they are a little gross, but hopefully will be gone when it gets cold
