Hi all! I am an amateur in dire need of advice...

Our small flock of mixed chooks are a little over 2 months old. They are still mostly tweeting, and none have yet crowed, but I need to identify their sex sooner rather than later. I think I have 4 of the 5 worked out, but I would like a second opinion. Thanks in advance!

At 8 weeks old with that much comb, looks like most are boys, sorry... only ones that might be pullets are the little black frizzle and the barred one...

Thanks! That's pretty much what I thought. I wasn't sure about the light sussex, as the feathers didn't look rooster-ish (yet) based on the photos I've seen. The australorp and layer are definitely roos though.

At that age, you have to go by combs and wattles... males don't start getting their saddle feathers til closer to 12 weeks or so...
