mixing pullets and hens

ok, i read that at 3 mos. it's ok to put them together, but if they don't get layer feed until they are 20 weeks old, how do you keep them from eating each others feed?
 
I don't think you can keep them from eating each other's feed unless you separate then during feeding time. but, its ok if the younger ones eat some layer feed
 
If you want to put them together and feed them all the same, try FlockRaiser by Purina. It is made for all ages of chicks and pullets and you can just supplement woth oyster shell for the big girls to give them the extra calcium WHEN they start laying if they are not already.
 
thx, I'll look for that flockraiser. I only have 4 hens and the one on the bottom of the pecking order is looking forward to having someone to boss around.
