Mixing young chicks with older chicks.

I will have 10 hatchlings (buff orps, barred rocks, GLW, EE) delivered in Jan and a friend offered me 2 of her silkie chicks that will be 3-4 weeks old when I get the delivery. I've always wanted silkies but I'm not sure how to integrate them. I plan to brood the babies in my garage and then out in the coop by 2 weeks with MHP method. At what point should I get them together?

I have put older chicks with younger chicks quite a few times, and they all did fine, some of them were bantams, while others were standard-sized breeds. You should put yours together and watch them closely to make sure that the Silkies aren't mean to the younger chicks, or vise versa.
