Moldy Bread?

    Moldy feed can kill chickens. Stale's ok, though.

    Basic rule of thumb is "would I eat it"? [​IMG]



    Of course there are exceptions, worms, grubs, etc. I wouldn't eat those. [​IMG]

    The reason I asked was because I was searching threw the forum when I came across this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=498686
    The
    2nd post down someone said...
    ....Its pretty simple. Everything i use is either moldy or uneatable for humans, so its not like I have to go buy new bread for them (I just use moldy bread) The chickens love it!

    That is what confused me. [​IMG]

    I've fed my chickens moldy bread a lot and it hasn't hurt them. I have different standards for people food vs animal food. I've thrown some pretty nasty things into the compost pile and the girls just dig in like it's a buffet! My flock is very healthy, no illness, lay great, everyone gets along.
