Chirping
I tried to get better pictures but I had another one pecking my butt and this one was trying to fly away from me lol
This is my ~9 month old black australorp named Pepper. It is still late winter here in NE USA, about 35 degrees or so. We have had some warm days and I read chickens this young don't even molt.... her left side of her throat is basically bald, it is worse than the pictures show.
What is the deal? Is it molting? Is she pulling her own feathers? Somebody pulling hers? Mites? I have no clue. I am new to all this... she is the only one like this. She has earned the nickname Turkey... I have good animal husbandry skills, I use a dropping shelf, mind the humidity in the coop, I'm not sure what could be wrong.
If you have thoughts on what the cause is, please provide some potential solutions, if possible.
Thanks!!
