I have two small coops with two chickens in each, both on opposite sides of the yard. My cochins are 5 months and have been having major issues with feather loss...theyre little feathers all over but you can't tell by looking at the chickens. I've checked them numerous times for signs of lice or mites(eggs/feces) but havent seen anything unusual. In an attempt to integrate them I put the cochins in with my one nice EE and put the mean EE in the coop where the Cochins were. That didn't work out. A few weeks later theres progressively more and more feathers in the other coop now and one of the EE's(not the one that was placed in the other coop) has visible feather loss on her chest. They are 13 months now so could it just be molting or do you think the other hens carried something over and spread it?? What should I do??
