Momma Hen won’t show food to baby chicks

Hello! We just got two day old chicks from the feed to store to give to our broody hen. We gave the chicks to my hen about 2 hours ago, and she accepted them right away and let them go under her to warm up. This is her first time raising chicks and she hasn’t shown the chicks the food and water and hasn’t even gotten off the nest yet. I am a little worried that the chicks won’t get enough food or water and that the mama hen won’t show it to them… should I do something or just keep on waiting until she eventually shows them? Thanks!

If she's only had them for 2 hours I wouldn't be worrying yet. Instincts tell her to wait longer after the first chick comes out so that the other eggs can continue hatching.

Oh great, that makes me feel so much better! I left food and water right outside the nest so when they come out they can easily find it.
