Mommy took her baby out today....*Pic*

Today I went into the coop and saw Iris sitting on the edge of the tote that I have kept her and Lilley in since she was born on July 28th. I freaked out because I am so worried about the other chickens getting her. I'm told a mommy chicken will protect her baby no matter what. An hour later I go check on her again and I can not find Lilley or Iris and where do I find them....in the run with 40 other full grown chickens and they are as happy as can be. Some of the other chickens are taking an interest in Iris but Lilley is protecting her. It's amazing watching them together! Here is baby Iris first trip outside...

She is a Mille Fleur D'Uccle. I have about six more that look just like her...the got the six at Tractor Supply.

What a beautiful and proud mama. And that baby, so prescious. I have a mama and 4 babies but I can't let them out yet. My other chickens have pecked at them. Wish I could have one big happy family. Could someone tell me how to pronounce the breed if it's not too hard to do on the computer.
