Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas Poultry club?

We are looking for anyone in or near Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas that is interested in a causual poultry club. Goal is to promote backyard and exhibition poultry in our area, promote youth projects (i.e.: 4H, FFA) and to assist others in starting their own backyard flock. Adjoining counties like Ashley, Bradley, Desha and Lincoln would be included.

This week I picked up a set of the 4H Poultry Project books. Cost for 5
books was $11.50. It includes:

Poultry 1: Scratching the Surface

Poultry 2: Testing our Wings

Poultry 3: Flocking Together

Poultry Group Activity Guide

National 4H Poultry Judging

Each 4H member will need their own set. We should know something soon on the
final approval for a 4H poultry project club. Meanwhile, I am starting my
children on the books. It is suggested that each parent call the Drew County
Extension office and request a set. If you would like to purchase a set for a
youth let me know or go ahead and purchase a set and drop off with me. Lets do
all we can to help our youth!

FYI: We had our organizational 4H poultry club meeting this past Tuesday. Had 7 children and about a dozen adults. A great start! If you know of anyone interested in poultry and are in or near Drew County, Arkansas please join us!
