(Think Bing Crosby's rendition of It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas)

It’s beginning to look a lot like Chickens
    All around my yard
There’s Henny and Penny and Jen Laying their eggs again
With colors from white to brown and blue and green.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Chickens
    Soon there will be more
I making my orders again For hatchin’ and chicks and then
I’ll have the brooder full and warm.

A pair of Cochins in Blue and a Buckeye Roo
Is the wish I’m havin’, my friends.
Hens who all squawk when they go for a walk
And Roos that will be gentlemen
And I can hardly wait until they all start laying again
Bawk Ba Bawk Ba Bawk Ba Bawk Ba Bawk Ba Bawk Ba Bawk!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Chickens
    Everywhere I go
There’s coop that looks so grand, and brood house, there it stands.
The sturdy kind that keeps my chooks all warm.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Chickens.
    Soon the cocks will crow,
And the thing that will make hens sing is that little roundish thing
    Coming out their butts.

[Tis the Season to Be Silly and Witty and just downright goofy!]

Ok, here's my attempt (but, hubby helped, too) ...to the tune of Winter Wonderland:

Chickens dance, can you see them
On the ground, they’re a scratching
    Pecking around
    There on the ground
Looking for another bug to eat

Waitin for my hens to lay
At the door I will stay
    Biding my time
    Drinkin’ my wine
Looking for another egg to eat

In the backyard I can hear them squawkin’
Another egg was laid by what’s-her-name
Will it be a green, blue or brown one?
Well, it’ll scramble up just the same.

Once a day is all I ask
    Don’t need more, it’s not a task
    Don’t get alarmed
    No hens will be harmed
Just looking for another egg to eat

In the backyard my hens lay with style
They are tame and never need a leash
I just heard a squawk which makes me smile
Perhaps I will make another quiche

    Easter Eggers make me quiver
    Such a bounty they deliver
    Just one egg a day
    And, they’ll get to stay
Looking for another egg to eat
Looking for another egg to eat
Looking for another egg to eat

    Happy Holidaze!

Okay, MinnieChick, you got me going, now. [IMG]

Sung to, "O, Tannenbaum" (aka "O Christmas Tree")

Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
Your eggs so brown delight us
I looked for your egg today
But there was none, what the, hey?
Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Why are you so broody?

Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Please, don’t be so moody.
Why do you sit upon your nest
Please lay an egg, it’s not a test
Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    O, your eggs so tasty

Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Please don’t be so broody
Please lay an egg, and get some rest
An egg-filled nest would suit you best
Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Why are you so broody

Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Please don’t be so moody
An egg-filled nest, should you aspire.
Or you’ll end up in my fryer
Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island Red
    Your egg song delights me.
