    Quick question.
What is the most asked for chicken? Like the chicken that most people want to buy (the most "popular".
    In your opinion?

I think Buff Orpington's are sure to be on that list. [IMG]

Quote:I also like the Buff's along with the Barred Rock's. I like their wide chest, broad back, large size and soft appearance together with their rich color and gentle contours that make them very attractive dual-purpose breed (meat production and eggs).

If you asked someone to draw a chicken, they'd undoubtedly draw a Rhode Island Red. They are the essential chicken.

In almost every poultry show held in this country [USA] the biggest class by far is the Old English Game Bantam class. The second largest, in most cases is probably the Cochin Bantams.
Buff Orpingtons are beautiful to be sure but it's rare to see one in a poultry show.
I wish Rhode Island Reds were the most sought after-as you may have guessed from my screen name that's what I raise.

Around here Barred Rocks, RIR and Buff Orps seem to be the most popular.
