Every one of the teachers at the school agree with you and would rather NOT give up their time to tutor kids before school. Teachers don't usually have a choice about things like this and it has less to do with their teaching ability and more to do with the administration. Teachers may very little power in situations like this BUT parents have much more. Do you have a site council or PTO that can meet and discuss this challenge? Our parents can get things changed here by uniting. The teachers love having them on the same side because they hold all the power. I suggest asking for a meeting with the principal and calmly and rationally talk about why it is a hardship for you and others and see what can be done. Most likely, you will have to go to the school board but remember you do have the power to change things! Good luck!
