mother duck and nest questions

i have a female snowy call duck and she has a nest of 8. but my question is she will sit for a few days then not sit for a day any ideas on y this might be? she has already had a clutch of 8 last year

Did she successfully hatch eggs last year, and is she at the beginning of the incubation process with this clutch?

yes she hatched all 8 last year and she has been sittin for about a week
