One of my four hens has moulted... and rather than losing a few feathers, has lost MOST of her feathers... she looks like she is on chemotherapy, is miserable... not laying eggs, and not roosting at night, but sitting on the nest. She is still just as active and is eating.. is this normal?

Quote:Pretty much. Some have light moults and others have really hard ones like your girl there!! Give her lots of extra protein to help grow her feathers back!!

x2, perfectly normal. This gives the egg-producing process a needed break from the action. And share pictures!!!
