moulting

hi all,what age do chickens moult at and how long does it last with RIR ?

It has been a while since we had RIR's. My recall is with ours (and it varies with your bird's heritage/background) is that first moult was somewhere around one year old to one year and three months old and it lasted for about 2 1/2 months. And what drove me nuts was their moult seemed to always be in colder weather, but I know now that with their warmer body temp, it was not bad for them in the way of "suffering"...Are yours moulting now?

yes they are near finished moulting,i have them about 2 weeks and am hoping to have eggs soon.
