I have 8, 8 wk old chicks that I raised from hatch in a nursery coop with a broody. The broody has long given up on them and they have been free ranging with the adults for 4 wks. I need to move them from the nursery into the adult coop as I have another broody and clutch on the way. May I please have some suggestions on the best way to do this?

you will probably have to physically move them for a while, as they've learned that the brooder is the place to roost. Or you could keep them shut up in the coop for a couple of days to retrain them on where home is now, though it might be difficult to keep them in when you let the rest out to range :p

Should I move them into the coop at night and lock the entire flock up for a couple days? They have a decent sized enclosed run.

You could do that.

Or you could go out each evening and make sure the chicks go sleep in the right place.

Both options probably work equally well for training chicks, but I don't know which will be easier for you.
